While RCMP in Saskatchewan were sharing stories about drunk drivers on social media, Mounties were also on the roads stopping and charging drunk drivers.
From Friday to the end of Sunday, RCMP charged 24 people with either impaired operation of a motor vehicle, impaired care and control of a motor vehicle or refusing a breathalyzer.
RCMP said one man was seen swerving on the road and hit a curb before being stopped by police. Another man was found asleep on the steering wheel in a parked vehicle in the middle of a gravel road close to a main highway.
Police found drunk drivers at 9:28 a.m., 9:49 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 3:40 p.m. and 4:39 p.m.
No charges were laid for drug impairment.
Over the weekend on social media, RCMP shared 24 stories in 24 hours about what officers’ experiences with drunk drivers.
RCMP said the stories reached over 190,000 people.Â
