Rollover on Idylwyld Drive closes freeway

A single vehicle rollover closed the southbound lanes of Idylwyld Drive near the 8th street overpass on Tuesday around the noon hour.

As of 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, crews have cleaned up the rollover and both lanes of the freeway are open.

A silver Ford Ranger could be seen laying on its side on the overpass, surrounded by emergency crews.

Drivers exiting downtown on Idylwyld Dr. southbound were being forced to exit onto Lorne Avenue and 8th Street, rather than continuing towards Circle Drive South.

Saskatoon Police say no injuries were sustained in the rollover.

The driver was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

Another driver is charged with driving with an obstructed windshield and disobeying officer commands.

According to police, that driver failed to slow down and drove through the police barrier at the scene Tuesday afternoon.
