The Regina Pats are getting younger.
On Saturday, the team announced it traded 19-year-old forward Ty Kolle to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 16-year-old prospect forward Ean Somoza.
Regina will also get a fourth-round draft pick in 2020 and a fifth rounder in 2021.
Kolle, from Kamloops, B.C., was first acquired by the Pats in a trade from Lethbridge in November 2018.
In 78 games with the Pats, he scored 23 goals and added 16 assists.
“We wish Ty all the best in Everett,” said Pats general manager John Paddock in a statement.
“He is an offensive player who will help the Silvertips down the stretch.”
Somoza hails from Thousand Oaks, California. He was drafted in the 13th round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft by the Sivlertips.
He is currently playing with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings U-16.
In 16 games, he has 14 goals and 29 points.
“We are happy to add Ean to our prospect group,” Paddock said.
“The two draft picks in 2020 and 2021 are also important for our organization moving forward.”
