Police have charged a 17-year-old boy in the city’s 16th murder.
In a news release Friday, police said major crimes investigators with the assistance of the guns and gangs unit located and arrested the teen without incident Thursday.
He is charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Family identified the victim as 35-year-old Winston Littlecrow.
Police said he died after being shot in the 200 block of Avenue X north on Dec. 7.
Police search on Avenue H South
Just after 5:30 p.m., police in tactical gear surrounded a home in the 300 block of Avenue H South.
Police said they were conducting a search in relation to the murder investigation.
Traffic restrictions were lifted around 11:30 p.m.
Police have not said what they found in the home, or if anyone was arrested.
