Peyton Krebs scored at 2:28 of overtime as the Winnipeg Ice posted a 3-2 WHL victory over the visiting Regina Pats on Friday.
The Pats trailed 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 after the second. Winnipeg appeared to be on its way to the victory, but Riley Krane scored goals 56 seconds apart late in the third period — at 18:39 and 19:35 — to pull Regina even.
That set the stage for Krebs’ game-winner on the power play.
Michal Teply and Brad Ginnell had the other goals for the Ice (16-11-1-0).
Max Paddock made 39 saves in the Regina goal. Liam Hughes stopped 23 shots for Winnipeg.
The game was the seventh straight on the road for the Pats, who haven’t played at the Brandt Centre since falling 4-2 to the Calgary Hitmen on Nov. 20.
Regina (6-17-3-0) is to be back on home ice Saturday, when it’s to play host to the Red Deer Rebels in the annual teddy bear toss game.
