For the second year in a row, North Battleford has topped Macleans magazine’s list of the most dangerous Canadian cities.
The list is based off of Statistics Canada’s crime severity index (CSI). Although Thompson, Man., ranks ahead of North Battleford for the amount of violent crime, the Saskatchewan city’s CSI score is the highest in the country at 385.
Saskatchewan has 10 cities in the top 100 of the list, including six in the top 25.
The next-highest Saskatchewan cities on the list are Prince Albert (No. 6), Lloydminster (12), Yorkton (17), Saskatoon (23), Regina (24) and Moose Jaw (32).
Joining North Battleford and Thompson on the list of the top five most dangerous cities in the country are Quesnel, B.C., Wetaskiwin, Alta., and Portage la Prairie, Man.
