Saskatoon police are continuing their investigation into the death of an infant whose body was found in a recycling bin Nov. 8.
An autopsy was done on the baby, but more testing is needed to determine a cause of death — and that could take between four to six months, according to the coroners office. The autopsy was not able to show a conclusive date of birth.
The autopsy was able to confirm that the infant was a recently born girl.
Police are going through video surveillance and are asking that anyone who may have video from between 25th and Queen streets and Third and Sixth avenues to submit it to police. They are specifically looking for video between Nov. 4 and Nov. 8.
Police are also releasing a stock photo of a distinctive bag that the baby was found in in the hope that someone may recognize it.
Anyone with any information on this or the whereabouts of the mother is asked to contact Saskatoon police.
