Late Thursday afternoon police were called to the 300 block of Ruth Street to respond to a robbery that had just taken place.
When they arrived the victim told them that when she left her house two people approached her and threatened her with bear spray before taking off with her purse, car keys and cell phone.
Police found the suspects in the 1900 block of Lorne Ave. As they tried to take them into custody, the male fled and during the foot pursuit fired bear spray at one of the officers.
The female suspect was arrested and found to be concealing a knife in her waistband.
The 17-year-old male is charged with robbery, assaulting a peace officer, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The 15-year-old female faces charges of robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
