I can’t make a prediction for Sunday’s game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
I’m usually fine with making one. This time, I am not. I’ll have to on the Green Zone pre-game show and by then we should have a little better sense on whether Cody Fajardo is even close to 100 per cent for the West Division final.
If he’s not, it gets more and more unlikely the Riders will beat the Bombers, who all of a sudden have looked like the formidable West team that was driving toward a Grey Cup at the beginning of the season.
However, homefield advantage has worked in the Riders’ favour eight of nine times already this season, with two wins over these same Blue Bombers.
The home team hasn’t lost a division final since the Riders beat Calgary in 2013.
Since then, home teams are 10-0. That’s why I’m picking the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East.
But I won’t know who I’m picking in the West until around 3:25 p.m. Sunday, when Woodsy, Belton, Darrell and I make our final pick ahead of kickoff at Mosaic Stadium.
