Three teens appeared in Saskatoon provincial court Thursday morning in connection to the Saturday shooting death of a 15-year-old Saskatoon boy.
The accused, two 15-year-old’s and a 17-year-old, cannot be named due to their ages. One 15-year-old made his first court appearance Wednesday, while the remaining made their first court appearance Thursday.
The three are charged separately with offences that include second-degree murder, possession of a firearm, breach of probation, and breach of undertaking.
The possession of a firearm charge was revealed to be a long-barreled rifle Wednesday.
The accused were given a non-contact order to five under-aged individuals who cannot be named, which include the accused and witnesses.
During Thursday’s court appearance, the gallery was packed to the door with on-lookers that included the accused’s family members and social workers.
On Monday, an autopsy revealed the cause of death of the 15-year-old boy was by gunshot wound.
He was found in “medical distress” just before noon Saturday at a business in the 2300 block of Arlington Avenue. They attempted to use life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful.
The three accused teens were remanded into custody and will return to Saskatoon provincial court on November 15th at 9:30 a.m.
