I want to go back to last Saturday’s Heritage Classic for a minute.
Mosaic Stadium, again, helped Saskatchewan’s second-largest city be the most recognizable and prized city in this province.
One of the most-watched television sports segments in this country is Coach’s Corner. It was there that Don Cherry reiterated that the NHL game in Regina could have an economic benefit of $15 million to the capital city. One can’t pay for that kind of advertising.
Earlier this year, there were two Garth Brooks concerts at Mosaic Stadium.
Later this month, the venue will likely host its first-ever CFL West Division final.
It’s not a stretch to believe that these four events alone will mean $30 million to $40 million for the local economy.
That’s a nice boost to Regina in one calendar year. It’s all because of the realization that a state-of-the-art entertainment and sports facility would make Regina better. Mosaic Stadium has done just that.
It’s amazing what can happen when there is a vision.
