Prairieland Park will play host to a massive flu shot clinic for several days.
The vaccinations will begin Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and run through to Sunday at 4 p.m. There is no cost to the public.
Dr. Jasmine Hasselback with the Saskatchewan Health Authority said it takes about two weeks for the flu shot to get to it’s maximum ability to protect you from getting really sick.
She also said, the flu shot itself will not make you sick, but some people don’t feel great after getting it.
“You’re not getting sick from the flu disease, but rather it’s just your body doing what it should do and that’s mounting a good immune response,” said Hasselback.
Hasselback said the flu shots are also available at pharmacies and medical clinics around the city.
