With the weather turning cooler, walkers and joggers can now head back indoors for their daily excersise.
The Saskatoon Field House reopened to the public Tuesday after a summer makeover. The work included installation of a new track and a refurbished lobby
Jody Hauta, recreation facilities and programs manager for the city said new automatic doors, flooring and kiosk are among the entrance improvements customers will see.
“Às well, we have new control gates for the public. That allows us to get a good count of the members coming through as well, it will give us a bit of security to the facility.”
Haulta said the new track is state of the art with a longer life span.
“It’s known as one of the fastest in the industry. We are hoping to attract high caliber athletes, and high caliber events to the city.”
The city said back in June the budgeted cost of the project was approximately $2.9 million.
