Federal Conservative party leader Andrew Scheer is set to attend an event in Saskatoon Saturday at the Saskatoon Farmers Market.
Scheer will speak to Conservative supporters and candidates at the event held in the Saskatoon West riding. Brad Redekopp is the current candidate for the riding, which is the only riding in the Saskatoon area that the Conservative party doesn’t currently hold a federal seat in.
NDP MP Sheri Benson is the incumbent for the Saskatoon West riding.
Scheer is set to speak at 3 p.m., and candidates and supporters in Saskatoon West, Saskatoon-Grasswood, Saskatoon-University, and Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek will be in attendance, Redekopp’s office confirmed Friday.
Scheer currently holds the riding of Regina-Qu’Appelle.
Scheer’s stop marks the second time a federal party leader has visited Saskatoon. Last Friday, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau held a town hall just a day after the brownface scandal came to light.
