The four men charged with manslaughter in Saskatoon’s 13th murder of the year made their first court appearance on Monday.
Mohamad Al-Zawahreh, Darrell Keith Dustyhorn, Destin Mosquito, and Devin Wesaquate appeared by video in Saskatoon Provincial Court to each face a charge of manslaughter.
Police members responded to a call at a home on the 100 block of Howell Avenue just after 5 a.m. on Saturday to find an injured 31-year-old man, identified by family as Kevin Nataucappo.
He later died in hospital.
Nataucappo’s sister Crystal took to Facebook to honour her brother. “Kevin was an amazing person that didn’t deserve to have his life taken from him. All he did was work and take care of his two babies. He looked after me so much, and always encouraged the best for me. He was my support person.”
Police don’t believe the incident was random or that there’s any risk to the public.
Al-Zawahreh, Dustyhorn, Mosquito, and Wesaquate will return to court on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
