Harvest continues to move slowly

The harvest in Saskatchewan continues to move slowly.

Just 23 per cent of the crop is in the bin compared to the five-year-average of 50 per cent for this time of year.

According to the most recent crop report, the southwest area is the most advanced at 37 per cent, but in the northwest only 10 per cent is complete.

Hail has been a problem for some producers, and there are also some reports of bleaching and sprouting because of too much moisture.

The forecast is calling for warm, dry conditions in the days ahead, which could help farmers as they continue with harvest.
