8:30 – With the Liberals still holding a narrow lead in the polls, many in the western provinces are renewing their calls for western separation if the Liberals form government again. Drew isn’t so sure, however, as he thinks the talk is mostly just bluster, similar to the Americans who threatened to move to Canada in 2015 if Trump was elected. Allan Kerpan, a former MLA for Carrot River Valley and Reform Party MP for Blackstrap, has spoken at several meetings as a spokesperson for “Wexit Saskatchewan,” outlining the issues with confederation and case for possible separation. Kerpan has said he’d support separation if Trudeau is re-elected, and he joins Drew now to discuss what he’s hearing on the ground and why he thinks separation is more than just talk.

10:00 – Producer Taylor says he doesn’t plan on voting in this federal election, because he doesn’t like any of the leaders or parties and doesn’t want to vote for the best of the bad choices. Drew disagrees, saying it’s important to vote regardless. Taylor joins Drew now to debate whether we should hold our noses and vote for the least bad candidate, or stay home and not participate at all.

11:00 – With football season starting for many young people, a lot of parents are concerned about the game’s high concussion risk. Some are avoiding football in favour of less physical sports, but is football really that risky for young people? Drew is joined by Saskatoon Minor Football Commissioner Brian Guebert to discuss these issues, and we want to hear from YOU! Should young people be playing full-contact football, or is it too much of a health risk? Give us a call at 1-877-332-8255 and have your say.

12:00 – September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and researchers at the University of Saskatchewan are making progress in the fight for a cure. Prostate cancer feeds off testosterone to grow, but a team led by Dr. Kishor Wasan has found that prostate cancer feeds off cholesterol in patients who are on hormone therapy to block their testosterone. They’re testing common cholesteral-lowering drugs to starve the disease and stop its growth. Dr. Wasan says they’re hoping to turn prostate cancer from a fatal disease into a manageable condition, and he joins Drew now to discuss his research.
