'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Saskatoon police had a busy Sunday dealing with two unrelated incidents.
Several blocks of downtown were restricted Sunday evening after a suspicious package was left in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue.
In a media release, police said the explosives disposal unit was called to the scene just after 5 p.m.
The package turned out to be empty and traffic restrictions were lifted before 10 p.m.
Police responded to a weapons call in the 300 block of Avenue T South around 2:20 p.m.
Once officers arrived, they noticed a man who had barricaded himself inside a home with a gun.
It ended peacefully with the arrest of a 33-year-old who now faces several weapons related charges.
