The city says it has now recovered $380-thousand in funds it lost earlier this month to a fraud scheme.
Most of the money the city lost is still frozen by court order.
On Aug. 12 the city discovered that a $1.04-million dollar payment to a construction company was re-directed to an account set up by a fraudster.
“Recovery of these funds continues to be a top priority and we’re encouraged to have over a third of the stolen money returned this early in the process,” said Interim Chief Financial Officer Clae Hack.
The city is still working with police and banks to recover the rest of the money.
