8:30 – Climate change will be a big election issue for many in the upcoming federal election, especially among younger voters. That means Justin Trudeau and Andrew Scheer are both touting their climate plans, but National Post Columnist Matt Gurney says the debate is entirely overblown. He says the Liberals are touting their carbon pricing scheme but promising not to raise the tax high enough to meet our Paris target or make a real difference. Gurney writes that “if the fate of the world hinges on the Liberal plan vs the Conservative plan, I regret to inform you that we’re all doomed.” He joins John now to discuss the climate plans and why he’s writing off the debate as “stupid.”
