Blustery weather over the weekend blew us right into the start of the work week.
The tail end of the system brought wind warnings to much of Saskatchewan on Sunday.
Kindersley and North Battleford reported the strongest wind gusts which topped 80 kilometres.
This week though, warmer temperatures are in the forecast with that wind dissipating.
Environment Canada meteorologist Sarah Hoffman said a pattern change with a ridge coming from the United States will push and fill in across the province.
“Both Saskatoon and Regina should see above seasonal temperatures by the end of the week.”
Saskatoon’s seasonal temperatures are between 26 C and 13 C, while Regina’s are between 26 C and 11 C.
Warmer temperatures do come with the risk of unstable conditions.
Hoffman said the stable pattern will be unsettled with unstable weather as the week moves on.
“(This pattern) is quite typically followed in short order by a destabilizing pattern. I would expect storms in the near future after we have this hot spell.”
This week, highs of 30 C are expected in Regina on Wednesday and Friday, while Saskatoon is expecting a park high of 29 C on Friday.
