'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Saskatoon Pets in the Park is right around the corner.
The charity event takes place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All proceeds raised from the event will go to New Hope Dog Rescue, SCAT Street Cat Rescue, and the Saskatoon SPCA.
Colleen Wilson is the founder and director of Pets in the Park.
She told Gormley the work these charities do is important for homeless animals.
“This (event) allows us to get (the animals) with their forever owner, and bring wonderful joy,” she said.
She described the event as a pet festival. There will be food, music, a silent auction, and many animal focused vendors and demos.
Wilson said more than 12,000 people showed up last year.
Leashes will be required for all pets.
