A Saskatoon man lived his dream of playing guitar with Nickelback on Sunday.
Austin Anderson travelled to Fort McMurray, Alta., to see his favourite band play live.
When he showed up to the concert, the band pulled him on stage to play its song “Animals.”
Anderson told Rock 102’s Shack that he became obsessed when he heard Nickelback was consistently bringing fans on stage.
“Me being the fan that I am, and knowing all of their songs on the guitar just from my free time, it was like it became the dream,” he said.
Now that he has lived that dream, he said he’s confident he put together a good performance.
“My ego got a little inflated by the end of the night … It felt super good,” Anderson said. “There were people in the parking lot telling me to roll down my window to give me fist bumps.”
Anderson said he has been a Nickelback fan since he heard the song “Hero” in the 2002 Spider-Man movie.
