Provincial leaders from every corner of the province are set to arrive in Saskatoon for the annual summer meeting of Canada’s premiers taking place this week.
The three-day day event begins on Tuesday at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough, where premier Scott Moe assumes the role as chair of the meetings as host.
“It is an honour to welcome my colleagues, Canada’s Premiers, to the vibrant city of Saskatoon,” Moe said in a media release. “These meetings allow us to work together on key issues that are important to all Canadians.”
Many of the discussions are expected to focus on economic growth and competitiveness, immigration, trade, and strengthening the Arctic.
“To create more jobs in Canada, we need to work together to remove barriers to internal trade in our country, strengthen trade with our trading partners, and diversify our export markets,” Moe said.
Part of the meetings will have delegation travel to Big River on Tuesday to meet with indigenous leaders.
