A Saskatoon man was robbed at knifepoint while loading groceries into his vehicle Wednesday evening.
Police received a call of a reported carjacking in the 2900 block of 8th Street East, the parking lot of the Real-Canadian Superstore, shortly after 9:30 p.m.
A man was loading groceries into his car when a man he didn’t know allegedly entered the vehicle and threatened him with a knife. A small altercation broke out after the victim exited the car. The suspect then stole the car and sped westbound on 8th Street.
Roughly four hours later, police spotted the stolen vehicle on Betts Avenue in a parking lot with the suspect sitting inside the vehicle.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and faces charges of armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public. He will appear in court Thursday afternoon.
