There are a lot of ways to celebrate Canada’s birthday around Saskatoon.
DIEFENBAKER PARK
The Optimist Canada Day party begins with a buffet pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a citizenship ceremony and a cake cutting. The mainstage comes alive with music from 3:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and end the evening with fireworks beginning at 10:40 p.m.
Your encouraged to come early to claim a spot, but event chair Rob Belyk said people won’t have a hard time seeing the fireworks.
“In the past people would have to move from the stage, go to the hill to watch the fire works. Now we’re setting off the fireworks from the top of the hill,” said event chair Rob Belyk.
People are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. More details on the event can be found here.
WARMAN AND MARTENSVILLE
If you want to escape the big crowds at Diefenbaker Park, check out the celebrations in Warman and Martensivlle.
The festivities at Lion’s Park in Warman begin at 9:30 a.m. The event in Martesnville at the North Ridge Centennial Community Centre starts at 1:00 p.m.
Both events are capped off with a fireworks show after 10 p.m.
PIKE LAKE
You don’t have to sacrifice lake time to celebrate Canada Day.
For the second year, Pike Lake Provincial Park will be offering live music and fireworks. The event begins at 8 p.m.
