Southwestern Saskatchewan continues to have a soggy weekend.
Rainfall warnings blanketed the Leader, Swift Current and Cypress Hills areas Saturday morning with another 10 to 20 millimetres of rain expected to fall during the day.
The rainfall total rises to 50 mm overnight.
It’s adding more moisture to already saturated ground.
Environment Canada Meteorologist Shannon Moodie told 650 CKOM that Coronach tied its old one-day rain total on Friday.
“They received 64.6 mm so they matched the one day record from 1993,” Moodie said. “Over the past 84 hours (Wednesday to Saturday morning) they’ve actually received 119 mm.”
It works out to a total of around four and three-quarter inches over the period.
“Now that (rain) band has really moved over Swift Current and the Leader area,” Moodie said of the weather system.
She expects the system to make its way out of Saskatchewan on Sunday afternoon.
