The death of a man found hurt along the Meewasin Trail is now considered murder, according to police.
Last Sunday a person walking on the trail near Spadina and 24th Street discovered the man below a pedestrian bridge.
Paramedics took him to hospital where he died of his injuries.
On Friday officials identified the victim as 36-year-old Daniel Joseph Morrison, but are not releasing his cause of death.
In a media release, police said Morrison did not have a fixed address but spent a lot of time in the downtown core and the riverbank area.
As part of the ongoing investigation, police are asking to talk to anyone who may have seen Morrison on Sunday.
He is described as being six foot four inches tall, weighing 176 pounds with long hair and a beard.
Morrison was wearing a light dark green jacket with blue jeans when he was found.
He wore distinctive size 18 yellow Nike high-top shoes.
Anyone with information about Morrison or his death is asked to contact Saskatoon police 306-975-8300 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
