A Saskatoon police officer who pleaded guilty to groping a woman at a Remembrance Day service will await the outcome of an administrative review to see if he can return to duty.
Const. Robert Brown was off duty at the time of the 2017 incident, which happened during a Remembrance Day service at Saskatoon’s Hugh Cairns Armoury.
Brown pleaded guilty earlier this year to a charge of sexual assault and was given a conditional discharge this week.
The conditional discharge means Brown won’t have a criminal record provided he abides by conditions, including that he not drink alcohol and continue addictions treatment.
Brown was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
He remains suspended with pay by the Saskatoon Police Service pending an administrative review of his conduct.
Brown is a 16-year member of the police service and also is a reservist with the North Saskatchewan Regiment.
