Saskatoon firefighters were called to two homes early Tuesday morning.
Crews were sent to a house fire at 143 Nordstrum Rd., shortly before 1:45 a.m. They arrived in less than four minutes and found smoke and flame visible from the rear of the home, including the second storey.
Everyone inside had reportedly got out by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.
Windy conditions forced crews to adopt a defensive approach to containing the blaze from outside the homeĀ and protecting neighbouring houses. Crews rotated through the night until it was safe enough to enter the home.
Firefighters remained on scene in the morning putting out hot spots in the structure. No injuries were reported.
By 2 p.m. Tuesday, the fire department reported that investigators were unable to determine what caused the blaze and that damage was estimated at $350,000.
Fire contained after flames located under mobile home
As crews were still working on Nordstrum Road, anotherĀ call came in just before 3 a.m. Tuesday from a woman reporting smoke inside her mobile home at 97-219 Grant St.
Crews arrived to find the home filled with smoke, with everyone who was inside the home already safely outside.
A thermal imaging camera allowed firefighters to determine the blaze was not actually inside the structure. They proceeded to remove skirting around the outside of the home and found flames underneath the building.
The flames were quickly put out before the fire could spread to the inside of the home.
No injuries were reported and no damage estimate was available.
