10:00 – Brad Wall says the economy will definitely be the biggest issue for voters in the Alberta election, but NDP Leader Rachel Notley may still try to win by destroying the character of her main opponent, UCP Leader Jason Kenney. Wall says this tactic is unlikely to be enough to distract voters from Notley’s pipeline and energy policies, which will be the real deciding factor. The former Saskatchewan premier (and sometimes guest talk show co-host) joins Gormley now to discuss the election before Albertans head to the polls on Tuesday, April 16.

11:00/11:30 – Dr. Greg Mosdossy, an physician in the Emergency Department of the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario, is not supporting the ban on handguns called for by groups of doctors around Canada last week. As a competitive shooter and firearms enthusiast, Mosdossy says a blanket ban would be ineffective and would largely target law-abiding citizens. He says blanket bans would not save lives or help preserve the legacy of shooting sports for future generations. Despite having personally seen the results of illegal firearm use in his profession, Mosdossy says he only supports “reasonable and thoughtful approaches to curbing injury and death due to firearms.” He joins John now.
