Saskatoon police have charged two youth in connection with the city’s second homicide of 2019.
The boys, aged 15 and 17 appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday charged with second-degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Mark Enwaya.
Tuesday evening police were called to the 100 block of Avenue Q South about an injured person. According to police Enwaya was found dead as a result of a gunshot wound.
Patrol officers later located and arrested the suspects on the 200 block of Avenue S South. Police said the teenagers were in possession of a firearm.
Police don’t believe the accused and deceased knew each other.
In addition to murder charges, both youths are facing numerous weapons offences.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act the teenage boys cannot be identified at this time.
