8:30 – We’ve heard from a lot of critics of the Trudeau government on recent shows as we discussed the SNC-Lavalin affair, so we thought we should hear from one of the government’s most vocal supporters as well. Sheila Copps, who served as deputy prime minister under Chrétien, has been an outspoken supporter of the government and has criticized former ministers Wilson-Raybould and Philpott for resigning from cabinet but not from the Liberal Caucus. In a recent Tweet, Copps said “Wilson-Raybould would have looked for legal solutions if 9000 aboriginal jobs were at stake.” She also suggested Trudeau needs to “lance the boil” by removing both women from the Liberal caucus. Copps joins John now to discuss her statements and the SNC-Lavalin affair.
