Saskatoon police have laid weapons charges against two boys after multiple shots were fired at a home in the city’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Avenue S South around 4:30 p.m. Thursday following a call from a man who said he’d been shot at.
The boys, 12 and 14, were arrested near the scene. Officers also recovered two guns, which a police media release described as having been “modified making them prohibited weapons.”
Police said further investigation revealed two people were inside the house when multiple shots were fired from outside, with at least two bullets making it through the walls and into the home itself.
The boys were due in court Friday morning to face various weapons charges.
Police said they don’t believe the incident was random.
Investigators were reportedly still working Friday morning to determine a motive for the shooting and to figure out how the boys obtained the guns allegedly used in the incident.
