Paws up: Saskatoon police dogs figuring out new boots

The Saskatoon Police Service is hoping to keep their K9 unit pups warm during the extended cold snap.

But their dogs are taking some time to get used to their new kicks.

A video showing police service dog Diesel right after he was outfitted with new warming boots is being widely shared from the Saskatoon police Facebook page.

A toy is thrown into the frame, and Diesel obediently chases after it — lifting his legs at odd angles along the way because he’s not accustomed to the feel of the boots.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Friday, the video had been viewed over 27,000 times in six hours.
