The Nutrien Children’s Discovery Museum is getting a new name to go with its new location.
The museum was founded in 2002 as a travelling exhibit for kids. It then moved into its current location at Market Mall in 2009, where it has remained ever since.
But with plans moving ahead for the museum to take over the former Mendel Art Gallery space on Spadina Crescent East, executive director Amanda McReynolds Doran announced Wednesday the the museum would be re-branding as the Nutrien Wonderhub.
“I think I can speak for the whole Nutrien Wonderhub team when I say that we are so excited about our new brand and how well it encapsulates exactly what we are creating,” she said during an event at the Park Town Hotel.
The new location is expected to draw over 100,000 visitors per year when it opens later this year.
