8:30 – Premier Scott Moe apologized Monday for the Saskatchewan government’s role in the ’60’s Scoop, which saw First Nations and Metis children placed with white adoptive families, separating them from their culture and language. One of those children was Christina Nakonechny, who was adopted from Treaty 4 territory at age 5 or 6. She didn’t learn her biological family’s history until after her mother passed away in 2013. Nakonechny joins Gormley to talk about how she felt watching Premier Moe’s apology and what it means to those swept up in the ’60s Scoop.
