UPDATE: The Prince Albert Police Service has confirmed that an investigation is underway regarding a potential threat to Carlton Comprehensive Public High School.
Police said in a media release Monday morning that a threat was received Sunday evening. The police service said there will be an increased police presence and high-visibility security while the threat is being investigated.
Members of the public are asked to report any suspicious activity to police.

Security was expected to be tight for the return of students after the holiday break Monday at Carlton Comprehensive Public High School in Prince Albert.
paNOW has received a copy of an email sent to parents last night from the school principal.
It says the school was made aware of a potential threat to the school today and they are working with the Prince Albert Police Service on how to handle it.
The email says extra safety and security measures will be in place today and in the coming days.
Students are being asked to enter through the front entrance of the school by the main office.
Police have so far not released any information regarding the validity of the threat.
