The Saskatoon SPCA is making it easy to help them this holiday season with its holiday gift guide.
Education and Public Relations Coordinator Jasmine Hanson told 650 CKOM the gift guide covers everything from small to big-ticket items.
“Vaccinations and de-worming and things like kitchen formula because we have a lot of litters of infant kittens come in,” she said of the basics.
Glucometers and ammonia readers are among the bigger items on the list.
Hanson said there are also some day-to-day items the shelter can use.
“Wet cat and kitten food, non-clumping cat litter, durable dog toys and liquid laundry detergent and bleach–we do a lot of laundry,” she said.
The Saskatoon SPCA cares for around 4,000 animals a year.
Hanson said it takes an average of $23 a day to care for a healthy animal.
