8:30 – Statistics Canada’s controversial plan to collect Canadians’ personal banking data got more controversial this week when Global News Correspondent David Akin revealed they went ahead with the plan without providing written notice to the minister responsible for Statistics Canada as the law requires. According to Akin, the Trudeau cabinet first learned of the plan through media reports. Akin joins John now to discuss the newest details in the case.
