Saskatoon band The Sheepdogs were a long way from home for the May long weekend.
The group flew to Kazakhstan to perform during the Canada 150 Hockey Days.
It’s a series of hockey-related events in the country’s northeast to celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Kazakhstan.
The event also acts as a way to mark Canada’s 150th birthday and 60 years of hockey in Kazakhstan.
Sunday night the JUNO award winning band performed on a makeshift stage just behind the glass before the Heritage Cup legends match between Team Canada and Team Kazakhstan.
The show kicks off a busy summer for the band, who are set to tour Canada starting in June.
