It’s always nice to see a mutual relationship between a high-performance athlete and fan.
That spirit of sport isn’t always evident or even talked about, but on Wednesday night I witnessed it.
I posted a picture to social media of some young “Timbits” players giving high-fives to the Canadian national women’s hockey team, before
their game with the Americans at the Four Nations Cup at Sask-Tel Centre.

The picture continues to get “likes.”
What was interesting to me was that Team Canada players were just as happy to see the minor hockey players as the youngsters were to see
their heroes.
The smiles of the Canadian players cut through their cages to the young, lucky fans that looked to be about five or six years old.
Many athletes at many levels could take a page out of Team Canada’s book.
It’s always nice to be in the right place at the right time. I just happened to be at that place on Wednesday night.
