Saskatoon firefighters were in for a surprise when they responded to a call of abandoned needles Sunday morning.
A call came just after 9 a.m. Sunday, reporting a large amount of needles scattered along Circle Drive northbound near Laurier Drive.
When the first truck arrived, it quickly realized this was more than just a few needles tossed in a ditch.
A second truck was called in to assist in the clean up of more than 500 needles that lined both sides of Circle Drive, from just north of Laurier Drive to the 33rd Street exit ramp.
It is not known how the needles ended up there.
