8:30 – Patrick Johnson admitted to vandalizing the John A. MacDonald statue in Regina, painting the hands red. Johnson came forward after the vandalism and admitted he was the culprit. He’s now facing a mischief charge. Johnson joins Gormley this morning to discuss.

10:00 – A Saskatoon police constable was fired due to multiple assault charges, but the Saskatoon Police Association released a statement on Twitter saying they disagreed with the decision and planned an appeal. Bernie Eiswirth, executive officer of the Saskatchewan Federation of Police Officers, joins John to talk about what happens when a serving officer is fired.

11:00 – Author Ned Powers’ new book, Cosmo’s Miracle on 34th Street, recounts the history of Saskatoon’s Cosmopolitan Industries, which opened in 1971. Ned’s book launched Aug. 29, and he joins John to discuss Cosmo and the new book.

12:00 – Avery Young-Lee, a teenage student from Wolseley, Sask., received a $70,000 scholarship for the high school breakfast club she created at Bert Fox Community High School in Fort Qu’Appelle. Punctuality and attendance both improved with the program, and she was recognized with a TD scholarship for community leadership. Avery joins the show live.
