Saskatoon police have arrested two men and say charges are pending after a serious assault Monday morning.
Officers were called to Avenue H and 33rd Street for reports of an injured man around 7:15 a.m.
Police said initial reports indicate the man had been attacked with a hammer and a knife.
The 37-year-old victim was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he is recovering from serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
A search by patrol and canine officers found two men in the area who are now in custody. Police say charges are pending.
As of 9 a.m. Monday, traffic was restricted to allow officers to work at the scene. Drivers were being asked to avoid the area.
