It’s the nature of how we communicate now. I am talking about social media.
It didn’t take long for CFL players to tweet about the turf at BMO Field after Eskimos receiver Derel Walker slipped in the end zone, allowing Toronto to cash in on an interception on Saturday.
That story made it to the main stream media.
I’ll admit that something has to be done at the home of the Argos. You can’t separate two surfaces on a football field with a goal line. CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie and Argo ownership is on it.
However, for the sake of balance, this shouldn’t be a lead story in the CFL.
The Thursday night concert series idea is a great one. Ambrosie fixed the overused challenge options that coaches had. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment now has control of the Argonauts.
Ambrosie has done well considering he has only had one full off season in the commissioner’s chair.
From a journalistic standpoint, the good stories trump the bad ones. It’s important that media and fans of this great league don’t “bury the lead.”
