Saskatoon’s St. Paul’s Hospital has a new state-of-the-art CT Scanner thanks to the support of donors and the provincial government.
In a media release, the hospital foundation said half of the cost, a total of $1.2 million, was raised by donations.
It includes funds from the Hospital Home Lottery, Orme and Shirley Asher and Give & Grow sponsors Schira Subway, Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and Furniture World.
The province agreed to match the fundraising total to contribute the rest of the cost.
Doctors use CT scans to see more than a traditional x-ray.
According to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, the new scanner will help more patients have scans in less time and provided clearer scans.
