'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
Reports of a man walking with a weapon at 22nd and Betts Avenue Tuesday evening ended with police arresting a 30-year-old man.
Police got the first call about the man with a knife at 7:40 p.m. with the air support unit able to track him down soon after.
A patrol officer tried to approach the 30-year-old, but he ran eventually getting stuck at a fence.
People in the area helped the officer after the man got aggressive.
Police say they found a second knife on the 30-year-old who now faces charges including resisting arrest, carrying a concealed weapon and outstanding warrants.
In a media release, police thanked the members of the public that helped, but say people should not put themselves in dangerous situations.
