More than 200 fire personnel from across Canada continued to battle the Rabbit Creek Wildfire Sunday in Prince Albert National Park.

In an update, late Saturday officials said the fire has grown to 35,416 hectares, roughly two times the size of Saskatoon.
Rain near the Waskesiu townsite and on the southeast side of the blaze Saturday helped crews working on the ground.
Personnel have several priorities as they work on the wildfire.
It includes keeping a close eye on the park’s south boundary where the fire is contained and creating control lines on the fires east and west sides with heavy equipment and helicopters with buckets.
According to officials, people are still allowed in the Waskesiu townsite and trails and have day-use access to Waskesiu, Hanging Hearts and Crean lakes as a large part of the National Park remains closed.
If people living near the park have any concerns they’re asked to contact their rural municipality administration office and clear away dead brush from properties to avoid fire.
