The Saskatchewan Marathon is set to take over Diefenbaker Park Sunday morning.
Opening ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 7:15 a.m. with more than 4100 people registered to run in one of the events.
The marathon means road closures and parking restrictions in several neighbourhoods;
– Exhibition Area
– Diefenbaker Management Area
– Gordie Howe Management Area
– Holiday Park Area
– Riversdale District
– Spadina Cres East (Downtown Area)
– Whiteswan Drive
Depending on distance race times are staggered Sunday morning.
Full-marathon runners will leave first from Diefenbaker Park and travel downtown along the river and back around.
The last event, the Marafun run for kids is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
A race expo, which is open to the public, runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Prairieland Park.
